Perspective and Seeing is a panel discussion exploring our relationship to each other, the image and the object. Through discussion and presentations, the panellists and audience will investigate and discover our association to race; the stereotype and the ‘other’. Artists will inform students, staff and the wider public of how they explore political issues surrounding identity, culture and desire.
Guests on the panel will be Jack Tan (artist and curator); Phil Hutchinson (Philosopher specialising in social theory at Manchester Metropolitan University); Yara El-Sherbini (artist) and Harold Offeh (London-based artist). The discussion will be chaired by curator, urbanist and researcher, Paul Goodwin.
Artists Harold Offeh and Yara El-Sherbini will present their work, followed by talks by Jack Tan and Phil Hutchinson.
